talent

Got talent? Want to do a fun act with your friends? A talent show is the perfect opportunity for students to showcase talents of any kind on a small-scale stage and perform for their friends, classmates, and teachers. Any student can sign up their act and participate in the show, and we are even inviting teachers to perform as well. We will have 3 judges, and there will be first, second, and third-place prizes ranging from money to gift cards. We will be holding the show during Pond on February 28 in the theater, so all students have the opportunity to not only perform but also come and watch others perform. We want to create something for students to look forward to during February, and with so few events going on, we think this is the perfect opportunity to create a fun and simple event.

A talent show has not been done at Bret Harte for a very long time, if at all, and we think this event is something that people will really look forward to. We hope that students participating will not only have fun, but also gain confidence in themselves and know their worth for being able to perform.

‘Everyone has talent. What's rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads.' ― Erica Jong.”

How to select courses in the Student Portal was reviewed during the presentations and advisory teachers were present to assist. The course request window will remain open until Friday, February 16 at 3:00 PM. Thereafter, each student will meet with Ms. Godfrey, academic counselor, or Mr. Holt, principal, to discuss course requests during the last two weeks of February. Please note that course requests MUST be completed online through your student’s Student Portal account. The Course Request timeline, courses offered, applications, forms, and additional information can be found online at https://www.brethartebullfrogs.org/o/bhhs/page/academics. Questions or concerns regarding submitting course requests as well as next year’s course options, please contact Ms. Godfrey directly at sgodfrey@bhuhsd.k12.ca.us or 209 736-8333.
